What Is On-Site Roll Forming?

On-site roll forming is when a portable roll forming machine is used to manufacture metal roofing and siding panels on demand directly on the job site. This process involves steel coil being fed into a portable metal roll forming machine to be shaped into the desired metal roofing or metal wall panel profile. By roll forming the metal on-site, the metal panels can go directly up to the roof without ever touching the ground.

We bring our factory direct to your job site by providing you with experienced roll forming machine operators to help you get your job done fast and hassle-free. This service is perfect for metal roofing installers that have an upcoming commercial project that requires extra long metal panels but don’t have their own metal roll forming machine.

Who’s On-Site Roll Forming For?

On-site roll forming is perfect for metal roofing and siding jobs that require extra long panel lengths. It allows you to avoid splicing the panels and eliminates a leak point.

Onsite roll forming is a service that’s provided to contractors only with a minimum of 5,000 square feet. It’s not a service that’s provided to homeowners.

Onsite roll forming and installation of the metal panels are independent functions. HRI Metals does NOT install metal roofing and siding panels. It’s the contractors responsibility to install the panels.

Requirements at Job Site

This service can be used at any commercial location in the state that meets the below requirements:

Contractors Only

  • *5,000 Sq. Ft. Minimum
  • *Labor To Catch & Stack Panels – While we provide a roll forming operator, you will be responsible for having a crew on-site at the time of your roll forming service to handle the panels once they are ready. If renting the machine only, we must qualify you to operate the machine first.
  • *Customer Must Supply A Cut List
  • *All Jobsite Safety Equipment Must Be Provided
  • *Location Has Proper Space – To ensure your job site is eligible, HRI Metals will perform an on-site inspection prior to the date of your on-site roll forming service. This is so we can verify that your project location is both accessible and has enough space for roll forming. If you are ramping up to a roof, keep in mind you will need at least 30 feet of clearance from the roll former to the roof.

Do the panels need to be shot up to the roof?

We can provide a carriage to get your panels on the roof. However, this will require additional equipment that is to be supplied by the customer.
